Music of Max Richter, Ólafur Arnalds, and the ISO Kick Off Iceland Airwaves

As posted earlier, classical music will play a huge part in this year’s Iceland Airwaves Music Festival’s programming alongside acts Emiliana Torrini, Jon Hopkins, Kraftwerk and more. The festival opens with a huge blast-off Halloween performance from composer Max Richter who will be joined by Ólafur Arnalds to create an “all-season” program with the Iceland Symphony Orchestra conducted by André de Ridder. Richter and the ISO will be performing his re-composition of Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons (recorded and released last year), while Arnalds’ will be performing music from his latest album, For Now I Am Winter (hence covering all “seasons”). Both Richter’s Vivaldi Re-Composed and Arnalds’ For Now I Am Winter each hit #1 on the U.S. Classical charts upon debut.

Tickets for this unique program are available now at the Iceland Symphony Orchestra’s website.
