After announcing a surprisingly joint performance with Gustavo Dudamel, organist bad boy Cameron Carpenter is set to light all boards on fire with his upcoming new album If You Could Read My Mind. Preview samples of the richly vivid album below.
Unlike any other organ album before, If You Could Read My Mind uses the international touring organ as opposed to traditional pipe organs. The sound is richly BIG if not impressively thunderous in scope. The album is set to be the biggest organ album since Anthony Newman’s critically acclaimed Organ Orgy.
Carpenter represents a renaissance for the organ instrument’s prominence and joins fellow young organist James McVinnie in the rising use of the instrument as a significant choice for creative music output.
