Swedish indie-pop singer Lykke Li’s new album I Never Learn dropped today. Lykke Li’s songbook has always been a favorite for classical covers especially for the usually dramatic tones her music generally possesses. Easily as colorful and bitter heartedly dramatic as her lyrics, Li’s backing instrumentals are possibly the most classically-arranged ready pop music other than artists such as Zola Jesus and Band of Horses.
Here are some of our favorite fan classically-arranged covers:
The student Nachwuchs Orchester’s cover of “I Follow Rivers”
Kayleigh Rose’s piano cover of “Possibility”
Youtube user “sheseesbeauty” improvised piano cover of “Until We Bleed”
Ina Harris’ piano cover of Lykke Li’s first US breakout hit “Little Bit.”
Jamie Croft’s heartbreaking rendition of “I Know Places.”
It’s only a matter of time before covers start showing up for Lykke Li’s latest hit “No Rest for The Wicked.”
Li’s new album I Never Learn is out now.
