Keisuke Nakagoshi and Eva-Maria Zimmermann, otherwise known as ZOFO Duet take the precision of a duet performance to a whole new level in a new video by Matthew Washburn featuring the second movement, Beta Cygni, from George Crumb’s Celestial Mechanics (Makrokosmos IV).
Nakagoshi and Zimmermann, tactfully time their pacing to tensely and borderline excruciating cues to Crumb’s Beta Cygni. For longtime ZOFO Duet fans, the pair’s careful (and in some cases overtly neurotic) crafting should come as no surprise as they have brought a new sense of perspective and sophistication to the art of piano duet performance.
ZOFO Duet’s new album, ZOFORBIT, is due out May 27th on Sono Luminous. This entry was posted in General and tagged piano, sono luminous, zofo duet on .
