Reality-variety show America’s Got Talent is far from a breeding ground for budding opera stars, but Queens based operatic duo ACTE II probably pulled the best shot for an Opera-ized act to have a mainstream appeal.
ACTE II was far from your typical opera act. African American, raised in Queens, and clearly with a more down to reality personality that the normal American can relate to. The duo successfully managed to make it the knock-out rounds to appear on national television live from Radio City Music Hall in New York City.
Unfortunately that run ended last night as America voted them off. But cheers for an unconventional Opera act to making it this far on a platform not accustomed to boasting shining opera talents. This entry was posted in General and tagged america's got talent, nbc, opera on .
